Jonathan YU, with 26 years of working experience in law, has successively obtained a bachelor's degree in engineering from Beihang University, a master's degree in law from Renmin University of China, and a master's degree in law from Northwestern University in the United States. He once worked in domestic and Hong Kong law firms, and later served as the legal director of Gome Electric Co., Ltd., and the intellectual property consultant of Philips Intellectual Property and Standards Department. Joined Opple Lighting in 2012 and has served as the General Counsel.

In 2016, he was selected as the Outstanding Intellectual Property Manager in China in 2015 by China Intellectual Property Magazine and the China Daily Intellectual Property Column. In 2019, he was selected as one of the top 100 general counsels in China by The Legal 500 GC Powerlist. Since 2021, he has been selected as the Shanghai Corporate Counsel Association. In January 2022, the legal team of Opal Lighting led by Mr. Yu was selected as an excellent corporate legal team awards by Zhichanli in China.
